CSM Resume Template

I created a resume template and strategic guide for mid-career CSMs.

I distilled my entire process for helping my 1:1 clients get hired into a template and guide, so you can edit your own resume with confidence, in accordance with what is working now in 2025.

If you’ve been struggling to land interviews or otherwise make your resume sound like you, this is guide will help you do exactly that. I go over exactly what your bullets need to say and a bunch of different ways to make them say it, from my simple bullet formula to advanced phrasing to fill-in-the-blank formulas you can tweak to make it your own.

This resume format and process doesn’t just get interviews, it gets people hired.

Note: this is intended for mid-career CSMs. If you are Senior, Entry Level, pivoting into Tech, or looking at Onboarding & Implementation roles, a specific template for you is coming soon!

How are you demonstrating your skills in AI?

AI is a hot topic among tech executive leadership, which means it’s a hot topic for tech job seekers. Employers want their teams leveraging AI in their day to day, and hiring managers want to hire AI-literate professionals to drive efficiency and real results for the company.

Here’s three things you can to do develop AI fluency:

Know what’s trending

While the last year or so as been focused on prompt engineering, now everyone’s talking about Agents. Like everything in tech, trends ebb and flow, and you need to keep up.

Subscribe to a newsletter (like our partner, Superhuman. Just scroll up!) so you can understand the hot topics without too much hassle.

Even better, seek out industry-specific AI trends. If you’re applying for MarTech roles, understand how marketers are thinking about and leveraging AI, and so on for every industry.

Get hands on

Use AI in your job, right now. Or, if you aren’t working, use it in your job search.

Develop a deep, focused prompt that eliminates back-and-forth and gets you a great result every time. Build an agent that simplifies admin tasks. Use AI to extract data insights previously only available to those with an MBA.

Try things, so that you can put them on your resume and bring them up in your interview.

Think like a leader

Right now leaders are thinking about how to leverage AI strategically. This means that there is a lot of content that is hyper focused on AI from the leadership perspective, and you can use that to your advantage.

Read and participate in discussions about AI in the macro. Articles like Is your CS team really using AI? or The Essential Guide to Leveraging AI as a CS Leader (Gainsight also has an article for CSMs — though I find it’s written for the leadership perspective as well) can help you understand what is keeping leadership up at night, and how you can be the perfect candidate to take it off their plate.

Remember, you’re trying to get a job.

You don’t have to join the AI hype parade. AI is a hot topic in tech, and if you want a job in tech you can’t ignore it. I want you to be able to wield every tool in your toolbelt to succeed in this job market, and AI can be a powerful one.
